About San Marino is...

In 2025, I launched Oldest Republic: a publication created to introduce San Marino, the world's oldest surviving republic, to an international audience.

I started by sharing stories: bits of history, local curiosities, and everything that makes this little country unique and worth discovering.

The response was great.
But soon, I realised something was missing - visitors didn’t just want stories; they needed practical tips on how to actually enjoy San Marino to the fullest.

That’s how “San Marino is...” was born:

A tourist-friendly guide written by someone from San Marino, made to help you navigate the country like a local - from the best places to eat, to hidden views and unforgettable experiences.

I hope you’ll find it useful, and that it makes your stay here just a little more magical.

Meet the Founder

Born and raised in San Marino, I moved to the United Kingdom when I was 19 to study at university.

During the years after, I was lucky enough to travel the world quite often.
And every time I met someone new and told them I was from San Marino, their reaction was always the same: surprise, curiosity, and a thousand questions.

That’s when I realised just how unique my home country is: both in its history and in the way it quietly preserves its character, culture, and independence.

After graduating from the University of Sussex with First Class Honours in Business and Management, I started my career at Sony’s European Headquarters. I worked first in management accounting, helping with cost control and investment analysis, and then as a Category Manager for the Audio division, focusing on sales and commercial growth across Europe.

Eventually, I decided to take a leap and start my own company; and since then, I’ve been involved in everything from business consulting and property management to digital media and even blockchain gaming.

But San Marino has always been in the back of my mind.
With "San Marino is…", my goal is to create the kind of guide I wish had existed earlier: something useful, authentic, and written by someone who actually knows the place.
I hope it helps you enjoy your time here as much as I enjoy calling it home.
